Flower Hybrid
Vadim Sidur | Alexander Pozin
August 28 – October 5, 2025
Vadim Sidur Museum, 37A Novogireevskaya Street
The Vadim Sidur Museum and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, with the support of Flor et Lavr Gallery, introduce Flower Hybrid — the third exhibition in this year’s series of temporary shows built around the metaphor of a blooming garden as a lost-and-found paradise.

The project brings into dialogue Vadim Sidur, a seminal figure of Soviet unofficial art, and Alexander Pozin, a sculptor whose practice is deeply rooted in Sidur’s legacy. Its framework is shaped by the synthesis of their artistic DNA: flower evokes the central metaphor of the garden of paradise, while hybrid stands for Sidur’s legacy being reinterpreted and expanded by Pozin. Pozin’s works are independent artistic statements, yet they have grown out of the soil enriched by Sidur’s art. They inherit its philosophical depth and dramatic form, while transforming them for a contemporary context.
Sidur had a profound influence on the development of Alexander Pozin’s art, particularly in the 1980s, when Pozin’s bronzes reflected a search for new forms and textures inspired by his predecessor. He absorbed Sidur’s precision of detail and emotional intensity, which became the foundation of his own style. In the 1990s, Pozin created monumental versions of Sidur’s key works — The Monument to Those Left Without Burial and The Formula of Sorrow — turning them into acts of both continuity and interpretation.

The exhibition presents bronze sculptures from the 1980s, wooden objects, and installations by Vadim Sidur and Alexander Pozin, drawn from the collections of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the artists themselves, and private lenders.
